Steve Cartozian

With over two decades of product/brand/marketing management, sales management and general management experience, Steve has worked with many of the most recognized names in the business world and played an integral role in their well-documented successes.

Like many marketing gurus, Steve started his career at Procter & Gamble where he developed an innovative full-line marketing strategy that increased sales 35% in one year. He then moved on to Uniroyal where Steve turned around the fortunes of a key brand by increasing its market share 10% in one year when previously it had been decreasing by 15% annually.

Sara Lee came calling and put Steve in charge of marketing for one of its divisions. The move turned out to be a good one as sales increased by 33% in only three years.

Showing his versatility, he transitioned into hard goods heading up the marketing department for Echo Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment. There he instituted a brand management process that launched a new revenue stream taking the company from a multi-year flat $65 million to $110 million in two and one-half years. History repeated itself as Steve joined Ryobi America as Division Manager for their lawn and garden division until a merger.

At this point, Steve leveraged his comprehensive background into a consulting and marketing agency career and founded The Figa Group. Over a ten-year period, Steve built this consulting agency from zero to ten million dollars on the strength of improving the performance of such clients as ConAgra, C.J. Vitner Foods, ITW/Paslode, Sara Lee, and Sherwin Williams.

Armed with a wealth of business acumen, Steve got the entrepreneurial bug and formed a merger and acquisition management team in pursuit of a roll-up. Steve’s team secured funding from a $150,000,000 equity fund, but encountering the recession of 2000-2002 the deal flow was nonexistent and the team disbanded.

Subsequently, he started Revalour, originally as a new products / strategic consulting firm and marketing communications agency that worked with clients such as Sunbeam, Zenith Corporation, and Dean Foods. As the leader of Revalour, Steve developed several breakthroughs that bring new products to market faster and with a higher success rate.

Today, Steve has shaped Revalour so it effectively provides a broader array of services that zero in on bringing about innovation and are in alignment with the ever time-pressed schedules of its clients.

Steve shares his extensive industry knowledge as an adjunct professor of New Product Development for Columbia College and was a graduate division adjunct professor of Integrated Marketing Communications at Roosevelt University.

Given his track record of success, Steve is well known in business circles and is active in a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the American Marketing Association as well as being one of only 500 people to be certified as a new product expert by the prestigious Product Development and Management Association where he is a member and has been an officer.

Steve graduated at the top of his class from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. His numerous academic achievements include the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society (Jesuit equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa) as well as earning the Dr. Frizol scholarship.
